Same-Day Dentistry

Mishaps and setbacks can happen at any time. There are many circumstances in which a tooth could be knocked out, such as playing a contact sport without wearing a mouthguard, tripping and falling, or being in a car accident. Should you ever have the unsavory experience of losing a tooth, Dr. Susel Perez and her team will create a custom solution for you.

Our dental practice also has seven operatories so you can rest assured we have a place for you if you find yourself in need of emergency oral surgery.

Cracked Tooth Repair

When teeth are cracked, pulp damage is common, and root canal treatment often becomes necessary. Once your dentist has performed a root canal treatment, a crown will be fitted over the restored tooth in order to keep the pieces together and protect it from further damage. When the crack spreads below the gum line, or the tooth has become damaged beyond repair, tooth extraction will be necessary.

Infected Tooth Extractions

Finding out that you are in need of a tooth extraction can be alarming. In the event that a tooth has been infected beyond the point of repair, there is no other option but to extract it.

Treatment options may include one or more of the following, depending on the severity of your infection:

  • Incision and drainage. An infection may still exist inside the tooth after it has been removed; if so, it must be drained. The procedure is performed to treat and manage an aggressive infection.
  • Same-day root canal. After drilling down into your tooth and removing the diseased pulp, your dentist will drain the abscess. A saline solution is applied to the area, and the pulp chamber and root canals of the tooth are filled with a filling material. Crowns or other restorations may then be applied to your tooth.

Our caring staff empathizes with your situation and will walk you through every step of the process while ensuring you are in peak comfort. We are motivated by the opportunity to give you your smile back in one visit. Give us a call at 786-228-7535, or stop by SP Smile for an emergency dental evaluation today!
