Teeth Whitening

Drinking coffee, tea, cola, red wine, and smoking may cause tooth discoloration. Additionally, aging can stain and darken teeth. Dentin and enamel discoloration can be lightened using Zoom, a quick and effective bleaching process. Zoom’s in-office teeth whitening procedure is a quick and easy way to get your teeth white again utilizing the patented Zoom Advanced Power Chairside Lamp which accelerates the bleaching process.

Is Zoom Teeth Whitening Right for Me?

In order to ensure a better match between your restoration and your natural dentition, or after braces are removed, your dentist might recommend teeth whitening if you are planning other cosmetic dental procedures. There may be better options for you than whitening depending on the goals you have for your smile and the condition of your teeth. Conventional methods cannot be used to whiten existing dental work, such as crowns and veneers.

A comprehensive examination of your teeth and gums will be performed before determining whether Zoom in-office teeth whitening is right for you. We will also discuss your oral hygiene and lifestyle habits to determine if whitening can benefit you

Only your dentist can determine whether teeth whitening is appropriate for you, following a thorough oral examination that includes a shade assessment.

The Zoom Procedure: What to Expect

In addition to a regular dental cleaning prior to Zoom teeth whitening, the complete procedure takes less than an hour. Shortly before the procedure, the lips and gums are covered. Next, the dentist or dental assistant applies Zoom hydrogen peroxide whitening gel, which works in conjunction with the Zoom light to remove stains and discolorations from your teeth. While the light is activated, the gel remains in place for 15 minutes. Some patients may experience sensitivity during treatment.

There will be a total of 45 minutes of treatment divided into three 15-minute sessions. Afterwards, the teeth are treated with a fluoride paste-gel that reduces sensitivity.

Teeth Whitening Costs

The majority of cosmetic dentistry treatments are not covered by dental insurance. However, Zoom is a much more affordable teeth whitening option compared to laser teeth whitening. Zoom teeth whitening costs about $500 on average.
